Feldwebel-Lilienthal-Kaserne and the Barbara-Kaserne

The Barbara barracks is a military facility in the city of Delmenhorst .

history

In 1951, the British military built quarters for an artillery unit on the site of what is now the Barbara barracks and called it St. Barbara Baracks. The area was directly adjacent to what was then the Boelcke barracks, which was named Feldwebel Lilienthal barracks in 1966 . In 1963 the British withdrew and the Bundeswehr built several barracks for the artillery association ArtRgt11. The Bundeswehr assigned the name Barbara barracks to this area. At first, a fence separated these two barracks, which later fell away. The name Barbara-Kaserne was retained for this area. You can reach the Barbara barracks by first driving through the Feldwebel-Lilienthal barracks.
