Barbara Fest

Barbara Fest (born July 6, 1953 ) is a former judoka from the United States. She was third in the 1980 World Cup.

Athletic career

Barbara Fest fought in the heavyweight division or in the open class. In 1979 and 1980 she was American champion in the open class. At the end of November 1980, the first World Championships in women's judo took place in New York City . Barbara Fest won a bronze medal in the open class behind the Belgian Ingrid Berghmans and the French Paulette Fouillet . After her victory at the US Open in 1981, she interrupted her career.

In 1986 she returned again and won the US Open in 1986 and 1987. At the international tournament in Moscow in 1987 she won the open class and took second place in the heavyweight division.
