Barbara Hahn (geographer)

Barbara Hahn (born May 10, 1955 in Essen ) is a German geographer and professor at the University of Würzburg .

Scientific career

Barbara Hahn studied geography and English from 1973 to 1979 at the Ruhr University in Bochum. In 1982 she received her doctorate in Bochum with a dissertation on the island of Cyprus. The habilitation in Mannheim took place in 1990 through Canadian cities. From 1995 to 1999 she was a professor at the University of Lüneburg. Hahn has held the chair for general and applied economic geography at the University of Würzburg since 2001. She was co-editor of the Geographische Rundschau .

Hahn is also considered an expert on Canada. In 2017 she was head of the Geography and Economics section in the Society for Canadian Studies.
