Barnard Catalog

The Barnard catalog is a catalog of 349 dark clouds north of the declination -35 °. The first version of it was published in 1919 by the American astronomer Edward Barnard , who from around 1900 investigated the nature of non-luminous interstellar matter using photographic means . The extended version appeared in 1927.

The catalog number is usually preceded by a B , e.g. B. B92 for Barnard 92 .
