Baron Altrincham
Baron Altrincham , of Tormarton in the County of Gloucester , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Award
The title was created on August 1, 1945 for the House of Commons Sir Edward Grigg .
His son and heir, the well-known journalist John Grigg, 2nd Baron Altrincham , was the second peer on July 31, 1963, who renounced his title of nobility for life after the Peerage Act 1963 came into force and thus received the opportunity for the House of Commons to be able to run for office. The title was suspended and when he died in 2001 it was revived as the 3rd baron for his brother.
