Baron Aton
Baron Aton was a hereditary British title ( Barony by writ ) in the Peerage of England .
The title was created on December 30, 1324 by King Edward II for Sir Gilbert de Aton , lord of Ayton in Yorkshire , when he was called to Parliament by Writ of Summons . When his son, the 2nd Baron, died between 1386 and 1389, his only son William had already died underage, which is why the title in Abeyance fell between his three daughters Elizabeth, Katherine, and Anastasia.
