Baron Cottesloe

Baron Cottesloe , of Swanbourne and Hardwick in the County of Buckingham , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award, subordinate and other titles

The title was created on March 2, 1874 for the conservative politician Sir Thomas Fremantle, 1st Baronet . This had already been given the subordinate title Baronet , of Swanbourne in the County of Buckingham, on August 14, 1821 . In addition, in 1818 he had inherited the dignity of a baron of the Austrian Empire from his father, Admiral Sir Thomas Fremantle , which had been granted to the Austrian Empire on November 29, 1816 - with a royal British license from January 22, 1822, he and his heirs has been allowed to exercise this dignity in the UK.

Today's title holder has been his great-great-grandson John Fremantle as 5th Baron Cottesloe since 1994 .

The heir ( Heir Apparent ) is the only son of the current title holder, Hon. Thomas Henry Fremantle (* 1966).
