Baron Crathorne , of Crathorne in the North Riding of Yorkshire , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The family home of the barons is Crathorne House near Yarm in Cleveland .

Award

The title was created on July 15, 1959 for the conservative politician Sir Thomas Dugdale, 1st Baronet . This was from 1942 to 1944 chairman of the Conservative Party and from 1951 to 1954 Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries under Winston Churchill . On January 31, 1945, he had been awarded the title of Baronet , of Crathorne in the County of York, which has since been a subordinate title of the respective baron.
