Baron Crawshaw

Baron Crawshaw , of Crawshaw in the County of Lancaster and of Whatton in the County of Leicester , is a British hereditary title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The family seat of the barons is Whatton House in Long Whatton near Loughborough in Leicestershire.

Award

The title was created on August 25, 1892 for Sir Thomas Brooks, 1st Baronet . He had already been awarded the subordinate title Baronet , of Crawshaw Hall in the County of Lancaster and of and Whatton House in the County of Leicester on February 9, 1891 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom .

Today's title holder has been his great-grandson David Brooks as 5th Baron since 1997 .

Probable title heir ( Heir Presumptive ) is the brother of the current title holder, Hon. John Brooks (* 1938).
