Baron Crofton , of Mote in the County of Roscommon , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Ireland .

The historic family seat of the barons was Mote Park in Mote Demesne in County Roscommon.

Award

The title was conferred on March 8, 1798, Dame Anne Crofton , widow of Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Baronet (1746-1797).

Her grandson, who succeeded her as 2nd Baron in 1817, had inherited the title of 4th Baronet , of the Mote in the County of Roscommon, in 1816 , who passed on to her father-in-law Marcus Crofton († 1774) on June 12, 1758 in the Baronetage of Ireland. had been awarded. Today's title holder has been his great-great-great-great-grandson Edward Crofton as the 8th Baron since 2007 .
