Baron Hamilton of Dalzell
Baron Hamilton of Dalzell , in the County of Lanark , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Until 1952, the barons' family seat was Dalzell House in Motherwell , North Lanarkshire .
Award
The title was bestowed on August 14, 1886, to the Liberal House of Commons John Hamilton . He was the head of the line of Hamilton of Dalzell of the Hamilton family .
Today's title holder is his great-great-grandson Gavin Hamilton as the 5th Baron.
