Baron Joicey

Baron Joicey , of Chester-le-Street in the County of Durham , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The family seat of the barons is Etal Manor near Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland .

Award

The title was created on January 13, 1906 for mining entrepreneur and former Liberal MP, Sir James Joicey, 1st Baronet . On July 3, 1893, in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom, he was given the subordinate title Baronet , of Longhirst and of Ulgham both in the County of Northumberland .

Today's title holder has been his great-grandson James Joicey as 5th Baron since 1993 .
