Baron Kilmaine

Baron Kilmaine is a hereditary British title of nobility awarded twice in the Peerage of Ireland .

Awards

The title was first created on February 8, 1722 for the military James O'Hara . In 1724 he inherited from his father Charles O'Hara, 1st Baron Tyrawley , the title of Baron Tyrawley created on January 10, 1706 for this title . Since he had no legitimate children, both titles expired on his death on July 14, 1773.

The second bestowal was the title of Baron Kilmaine , of The Neale in the County of Mayo , on September 21, 1789 to Sir John Browne, 7. Baronet recreated. In 1765 he had inherited the subordinate title Baronet , of The Neale in the County of Mayo, which was created on June 21, 1636 in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia for his ancestor John Browne († 1670). Today's title holder has been his great-great-great-great-great-grandson John Browne as the 8th Baron since 2013 .
