Baron Lawrence
Baron Lawrence , of the Punjab and of Grateley in the County of Southampton , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Awarded and anchored titles
The title was created on April 3, 1869 for Sir John Lawrence, 1st Baronet . He had previously been Governor General and Viceroy of India for five years . As early as August 16, 1858, he had been awarded the title Baronet , of the Army, belonging to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom and henceforth subordinate .
