Baron Londesborough

Baron Londesborough , of Londesborough in the East Riding of the County of York , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was awarded to the diplomat and politician Sir Albert Denison on March 4, 1850 . He was the third son of Henry Conyngham , 1st Marquess Conyngham , and in 1849 he had inherited his maternal uncle's surname Denison .

His son, the 2nd Baron, was raised to Earl of Londesborough and Viscount Raincliffe , of Raincliffe in the North Riding of the County of York on July 1, 1887 in the Peerage of the United Kingdom . These titles expired on the death of his grandson, the 4th Earl, on April 17, 1937, the barony fell to his second uncle as the 6th baron. the current title holder has been his nephew Richard Denison as the 9th Baron since 1968 .
