Award and history of the title
The title was created on May 15, 1320 for the English knight Sir Anthony de Lucy , when he was appointed to the royal parliament by Writ of Summons .
At the death of his grandson, the 3rd baron, the title fell in 1368 to his underage daughter Joan as the 4th baroness, who died the following year. She was married to Gilbert de Umfraville, 9th Earl of Angus and Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland . The title has been suspended since her childless death on December 24, 1398.
