Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede
Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede , of Shulbrede in the County of Sussex , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The family seat of the barons is Shulbrede Priory in Lynchmere in West Sussex .
Awarding and other titles
The title was created on January 17, 1930 for the MP and writer Arthur Ponsonby . This should take on managerial tasks in the House of Lords in the government of Ramsay MacDonald .
After the fourth Baron lost his seat in the House of Lords through the House of Lords Act 1999 , he was elevated to a life peer on April 19, 2000 with the title Baron Ponsonby of Roehampton , of Shulbrede in the County of West Sussex . That way he could take his seat again.
