John Colborne, 1st Baron Seaton

Baron Seaton , of Seaton in the County of Devon , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on December 14, 1839 for the British General Field Marshal and Colonial Administrator Sir John Colborne .

His grandson, the 3rd Baron, added his family name to Eliott-Drake-Colborne with royal permission in 1917 as a general heir to his father-in-law Sir Francis Fuller-Eliott-Drake, 2nd Baronet, of Nutwell Court († 1916) . Since he remained childless, his brother inherited him in 1933 as the 4th baron. In 1927, after his father-in-law Sir Arthur Vivian († 1926), he added his family name to Colborne-Vivian . When he also died childless in 1955, the title expired.
