The Paton Bridge ( Ukrainian Міст Патона / Mist Patona ) is a 1543 m long and 21 m wide road bridge over the Dnieper in the south of the center of the Ukrainian capital Kiev . It is named after the Soviet bridge engineer and designer of the bridge, Evgeny Oskarowitsch Paton .

Installation of the welded steel bridge began in June 1941 and was interrupted for two years by World War II. The bridge opened on November 5, 1953, four months after Yevgeny Paton's death, making it the world's first welded girder bridge.

The engineers involved were W. Kyrijenko, I. Marakin, W. Nowykow, W. Trufjakow and O. Schumyzkyj and the architects were W. Ladnyj, B. Pryjmak and I. Fokitschewa.

Over the bridge which runs European route E95 from Druschby-Narodiw Boulevard ( Дружби Народів бульвар ) on the west bank of the Dnieper in pecherskyi district on the south of the Wenezianskyj Island to Sorbonosti brochure on the east bank of the Dnieper in dniprovskyi district of the city of Kiev.
