Baron Strathclyde

Baron Strathclyde is a hereditary British title of nobility created twice in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Awards

The first time on January 15, 1914, the title of Baron Strathclyde , of Sandyford in the County of Lanark was bestowed on the lawyer and former MP Alexander Ure . Since he had no male offspring, the title expired on his death on October 2, 1928.

On May 4, 1955, the title of Baron Strathclyde , of Barskimming in the County of Ayr , was re-created for House of Commons Thomas Galbraith . Today's title holder has been his grandson Thomas Galbraith as 2nd Baron since 1985 .

Title heir ( Heir Presumptive ) is the brother of the current title holder, Hon. Charles Galbraith (* 1962).
