The Barratt Due Music Institute (Barratt Due musikkinstitutt) was founded on September 18, 1927 in Oslo by the Norwegian pianist Mary Barratt Due (1888-1969) and her husband, the American-Norwegian violinist Henrik Adam Due (1891-1966). It has been a private foundation since 1986 but is subsidized by the Norwegian state. The institute offers music lessons from infancy to university entrance, the motto is: "From music kindergarten to concert podium".

Today several orchestras belong to the institute.
