Barry Lane (born January 17, 1955 in Hamburg ) is a German singer, musician, composer, lyricist, arranger, producer, music publisher and radio presenter.

Life

Lane learned to play drums, stringed and keyboard instruments at an early age and stood in front of the NDR cameras for the first time in 1969 in the Hamburg Music Hall with his band ASHBY. With the pop and country formation Tennessee (including Tennessee Tonstudios), record contracts and television, radio and festival guest performances follow. "And the sky turned red again" was the first solo single produced in 1982 by Joe Kirsten. An international hit program in 4 languages ​​from his own works and oldies enabled the trained foreign trade clerk to make the leap into the professional camp in 1983.

In 1984 Barry Lane received the Hamburg Authors' Prize for his composition "You have to experience life first".

In 1985 the singer and author was able to publish the title Take a Chance in Germany, Italy, Spain, France and South Africa. In Germany it was number one on the disco charts. In addition to TV appearances on RTL, Sat.1 and NDR, Lane was a star guest in three Italian evening programs on rai.

In 1987 the artist founded LaneSound Musikproduktion with his own recording studio and was also able to record successes as a producer of popular hits (e.g. "Holstein song" Otto Fürst, "Free as the wind" Hannelore and the star children).

In 1988, Polysong Musikverlag registered and took over the Sunrise label .

As the presenter of his three-hour Barry Lane Show under the motto “Music and talk from coast to coast” , the musician interpreted, among other things, maritime melodies in a personal way and played a stage sketch. In cooperation with Barry Lane & the Hamburg Police Orchestra , the homage was made to the hometown: "Hamburg, I belong to you". He performed on the open-air stage in the Hagenbeck Zoo and in the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle, Harburg.

Since December 6, 2004, Barry Lane hosted The Barry Lane Show on TIDE 96.0 (VHF) for eight years on Wednesday afternoons . This live magazine broadcast consisted of entertainment, talks and tips and featured personalities from culture and media. The last live broadcast was on December 12, 2012. In 2012, Barry Lane took acting lessons and was hired as an actor for the ARD television productions Morden im Norden and Die Pfefferkörner .

A role in the video clip So there like never before by the electro-punk band Frittenbude took the actor to the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival in 2017. The work submitted by director Aron Krause was nominated for the “short film” category.
