The Bartholomäer Kegelstatt is a bowling alley built in 1894 in Sankt Bartholomä in Styria . The local residents often refer to them as "Kegelbudl" or "Luahmbudl".

layout

The bowling alley consists of a windowed vestibule and an attached, elongated, arbor-like building that is the actual bowling alley. The entire building was erected in a light post construction and roofed with shingles made of spruce wood . The shingles are arranged in a herringbone pattern . The roof is a typical representative of the western Styrian slate shingle roof, which only occurs in northern western Styria . A gable board in the vestibule bears a monogram with a reference to the year of construction. The 19.5 m long bowling alley has a so-called cone tree cut from the trunk of an alder . It is 25 centimeters wide at the beginning and tapers to 11 centimeters towards the end.

history

The cone workshop was built in 1894 by the then mayor Johann Track. In 1975 Hanns Koren organized the renewal of the shingle roof. In autumn 2007 the renovation of the building began again. On June 15, 2008 the cone workshop was reopened.
