Bartomeu Sala i Sala
Bartomeu Sala i Sala (* 1821 in Campos ; † 1895 in New Norcia , Australia ) was a Spanish missionary .
Life
He was born on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca and belonged to the Benedictine order . Under the name Romualdo Sala he worked as a Catholic missionary. From 1852 onwards he did missionary work in Australia . He was one of the co-founders of the Benedictine monastery Nova Núrsia , today's New Norcia. He died in this only monastery town in Australia in 1895.
