Base anhydrides

As Basenanhydride is referred to oxygen-deficient oxides, usually metal oxides , which upon reaction with water basic (alkaline) reacting solutions form. The base anhydrides include, for. B. the oxides of the alkali and alkaline earth metals:

In the periodic table, the basic character of the element oxides increases as well as the metallic character of the element within a group. In group 15, the oxides N 2 O 3 and P 4 O 6 react as acid anhydrides , Sb 2 O 3 amphoteric and Bi 2 O 3 as base anhydride.
