Basil Comnenus the Younger
Basil Komnenos ( Middle Greek Βασίλειος Κομνηνός ; * September 17, 1358 in Trebizond ; † before September 1377 ibid) was a crown prince in the Empire of Trebizond .
Basil was the oldest legitimate son of the Trapezuntian emperor Alexios III. Komnenos and the Theodora Kantakuzena ; he was therefore a grandson of the eponymous emperor Basil Comnenus . At an unknown point in time, his father made him a despot and designated heir to the throne. Basil died before the wedding of his younger brother Manuel in September 1377. After the death of Alexios III, he took over. 1390 rule over Trebizond.
