The Bastion Observatory is located in the Russian city ​​of Kaliningrad , the former Koenigsberg . It is diagonally opposite the exit gate on Gvardeysky Prospect, the former Deutschordensring.

history

The bastion was built from 1855 to 1860 and named after the nearby Königsberg observatory . In 1910 the western part of the bastion was razed for the construction of the Samland Railway. It is said to have been one of the last fortresses that fell into the hands of the conquerors in the battle of Königsberg . After the war, the bastion became a recruiting office for the Soviet Navy. After 1990 a police department was housed here. The building is currently vacant.
