Battlestar Galactica in the Universal Studios Singapore ( Sentosa , Singapore ) is one of a total of 21 attractions and consists of two steel roller coasters of the manufacturer Vekoma . Both opened on March 18, 2010, but closed again for 11 months on March 25 of the same year (8 days later) due to technical problems. They were temporarily out of service from July 21, 2013 to May 27, 2015 in order to completely revise the layout of the vehicles.
They belong to the category of Dueling Roller Coaster and have several near-collision situations, which means that the trains come so close during the journey that the passengers have the feeling that the trains are touching - similar to the Dragon Challenge in Universal's Islands of Adventure . The two routes are divided into the blue route Cylon and the red route Human . Cylon is an inverted coaster with five inversions and is therefore designed for extreme travel. In contrast to the Cylon, the trains at Human run on rails and have no loops, which makes the journey more family-friendly.
Naming, concept and design are of the television series Battlestar Galactica inspired in the people ( Humans ) against alien Cylons ( Cylons fight).
