Battos IV.
Battos IV ( Greek Βάττος ὁ Καλός ) was from around 520 / 15–465 BC. As successor of his father Arkesilaos III. King of Cyrene .
From the reign of Battos, who was nicknamed "the beautiful", no special events have come down to us, since Herodotus' report ends with the conquest of the city of Barke by the Persian satrap Aryandes and his grandmother Pheretime . He probably succeeded in breaking away from the sovereignty of the Persians . Judging by the archaeological finds, Cyrene was very prosperous in its time.
