description

Some pruning shears have a telescopic rod that can be extended up to a length of two meters in order to reach higher branches of a tree. When it comes to pruning shears, a basic distinction is made between bypass and anvil pruning shears. Bypass scissors are scissors in which the two blades slide past each other, this enables a smoother cut. In the case of anvil scissors, however, the blade hits a smooth metal surface. These scissors can be operated with less effort.

Pruning shears with telescopic rods, also called caterpillar shears, work according to the so-called " cable pull system ". The cutting edge is placed on a branch and operated with the help of a rope so that the branch is cut off. As pruning shears, like any cutting tool , wear out over time, they should be cleaned and sharpened regularly.

The pruning shears are usually used as the next smallest garden tool.
