The Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011 , also EU Construction Products Regulation (EU BauPVO) , the European Parliament and the European Council of 9 March 2011 laying down harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products to the removal of trade barriers in the internal market is used. It lays down regulations for the safety of buildings and other structures and deals with aspects of health, durability and energy saving, environmental protection, as well as economic aspects and other important issues of public interest. It replaces Directive 89/106 / EEC and is intended to standardize the existing framework conditions of the member states for the placing on the market of construction products. The provisions of the new EU regulation intend to:

  • Fulfillment of the criteria of the CE marking on construction products
  • Obligation to designate national product information points for the construction industry
  • Creation of a declaration of performance with regard to the essential characteristics of the construction product as the basis for the CE marking
  • Specification of the obligations of economic actors (manufacturers, dealers and importers)
  • Definition of the role and responsibilities of manufacturers, distributors, importers, technical assessment bodies as well as market surveillance and authorities of the member states with regard to the application of this EU regulation
  • Introduction of simplified procedures that enable companies to reduce costs, especially for small and medium-sized companies
  • Establishing a clear framework for the harmonized technical specifications
