Dallmeyer Peak

The Dallmeyer Peak is a 1,105  m high mountain on the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 3 km west of Steinheil Point on the south bank of Andvord Bay .

The mountain is first shown on an Argentine map from 1952. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain on 23 September 1960 after the German-British optician John Henry Dallmeyer (1830-1983), who in 1866 independently Hugo Adolph Steinheil an aplanatic had developed under the name rapid rectilinear led .
