The Andvord Bay ( French Baie Andvord ) is a 5 km wide and 14.5 km long bay on the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located between Beneden Head and Duthiers Point on Gerlache Street .
It was discovered during the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery , who named it after the Norwegian shipowner Rolf Thorsteinson Andvord (1847–1906), who was then consul of Belgium in Norway.
