The monolith of Risa stands on a hill southeast of Tananger overlooking the Hafrsfjord in Sola in Stavanger in Fylke Rogaland in Norway . There are 22 locations of preserved building blocks in Sola.

The building stone is about 2.5 meters high, 0.7 to 0.8 meters wide and 10 cm thick. The lower end of the menhir is a little thicker.

Legend

It is one of the six locations of Hvilesteinene or Kvilesteinene ( German  "Ruhesteinen" - in the sense of gravestones) of Erling Skjalgsson (925-1028) of Olav I. Tryggvason's brother-in-law , which, according to legend, is located in Jåsund, Meling , Haga, Risa, Hogstad and Sømme were drawn up.
