Coordinates: 58 ° 56 '32.1 " N , 5 ° 36' 38.7" E
The monolith of Meling stands on a large, flat area northeast of Tananger overlooking the Hafrsfjord in Sola in Stavanger in Fylke Rogaland in Norway . There are 22 locations of preserved building blocks in Sola.
The building stone, which is inclined slightly to one side, is around 4.0 meters high, 1.0 to 1.5 meters wide and only 20 cm wide at the top. The lower left third of the menhir is broken along a natural crack in the stone. Over the years this part has moved away from the rest of the stone and you can see through the crack.
