Bavarian Research Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bavarian Research Foundation was founded in 1990 on the initiative of the Bavarian State Government . The foundation's assets come from income from company investments of the Free State of Bavaria at the time

The research foundation supports research projects from the natural sciences and technology in which business and science have to work together. This happens in individual projects or overarching research alliances in which several universities, research institutions and companies, especially SMEs , cooperate. The funding amounts are currently in the range of 50,000 to 2 million euros for a project or a network, the maximum funding period is three years. To promote international cooperation in its projects, the Research Foundation grants doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships and maintains a program to promote international cooperation in applied research. The award of the scholarships is linked to participation in a research foundation project.

The research foundation provides funding for 30 to 40 projects every year.
