The Bayerisches Jazzweekend is a jazz festival in Regensburg that has been held on four days in mid-July since 1982. The artistic direction lies with the Bavarian Jazz Institute , the organizer is the cultural office of the city of Regensburg.

The original aim was to fill the historical core of the city with artistic life.

The festival presents jazz of all styles on more than 12 stages and sees itself as a platform for new talents and bands. The Bavarian Jazz Institute will plan and organize the event ; the performers are selected by a jury. The city of Regensburg acts as the organizer . The musicians perform at the Jazzweekend for a flat fee of only 100 euros per concert, a fraction of the usual fees. The festival is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art . Around 30,000 visitors come every year.
