" Beamtenversicherungsverein des Deutsche Bank- und Bankiergewerbes" is the historical name of today's BVV Versicherungsverein des Bankgewerbes a. G. , the pension fund for the company pension scheme of banks and financial service companies. The historical name is explained by the fact that bank employees used to be or were called " bank officials ". The abbreviation BVV was retained as part of the name when it was renamed.
BVV was founded in 1909. In 1999, in addition to the pension fund BVV pension fund of the banking industry association founded with the implementation method as occupational pensions and the reinsured provident fund is offered.
Since 2008, the pension fund implementation channel has also been available in the form of the BVV pension fund des Bankgewerbes AG .
In terms of assets under management, the BVV is Germany's largest pension fund. In 2018, the balance sheet total was 30 billion euros and there were over 117,000 active pensioners.
