The Beijing BJ130 was a commercial vehicle produced by Beijing Automobile Works . The vehicle was manufactured by the Beijing No. 2 Automobile Plant and was available in a variety of configurations, including bus-like variants. Another model name for vehicles made in Shanghai is Shanghai 130 . This model was also produced by Baoding Tianma .

The development of the BJ130 began in 1966. The first small series production started in 1968, the series production only in 1972. Another source mentions the year 1973.

The vehicle was powered by the 4-cylinder petrol engine with the designation North 492 , which was also used in other commercial vehicles of the time. With a displacement of 2.2 l, the engine achieved an output of 51.5 kW. Power was transmitted via a four-speed manual transmission. The consumption was 9.1 l of petrol per 100 km.

With a gross vehicle weight of 4.1 t, the BJ130 was able to carry a payload of 2.2 t.

Almost all transport superstructures were painted blue, otherwise gray or black. By the end of the 1980s (or 1985) around 500,000 copies should have been made.
