history

On May 24, 1890, the then 25-year-old businessman Carl Beiselen registered the Carl Beiselen Thomas phosphate mill with its seat in Ulm at the Ulm / Danube district court. In addition to the production of Thomas flour, the fertilizers commonly used at the time such as kainite , carnallite , superphosphate , Chile nitrate and coking ammonia were traded from the start . Georg Preßmar took over the company after the death of Carl Beiselen in 1900. His brother Carl Preßmar managed the company between 1931 and 1973. The Beiselen company was concentrated in southern Germany. In the 1980s and 1990s, various pesticide storage locations were taken over from retiring competitors. As of 2017, Beiselen has 16 branches and employs more than 600 people.
