Beit Ben Yehuda

The Beit Ben Yehuda (BBY) is an international youth meeting place in Jerusalem , which is part of the Action Reconciliation Peace Services.

At Beit Ben Yehuda, seminars, programs, language courses and overnight accommodations are offered for all ages in order to promote intercultural exchange between Israelis and people from all parts of the world. The meeting programs deal with the history and current situation of Israel, the diversity of Israeli society, its different cultures and religions as well as the Middle East conflict . Special emphasis is placed on dealing with the causes and consequences of the National Socialist race and extermination policy and on the history and present of German-Israeli and Christian-Jewish relations.

The BBY also has long-standing relationships with the Yad Vashem Memorial , the Israel Youth Exchange Service and numerous Israeli universities and organizations that promote Jewish-Arab and religious and secular coexistence. The BBY is also in cooperation with the international meeting places Foyer Le Pont in Paris and Międzynarodowy Dom Spotkań Młodzieży (MDSM) in Auschwitz .

The guest house

The Beit Ben Yehuda guest house opened in 2004. It consists of the historic residential building by Eliezer Ben Yehuda with a German and English language library and a new building in which the guest rooms and seminar rooms are located. In 2008 it recorded around 5000 overnight stays.
