Etiquette

Students learn table manners in Ghana .

As etiquette lessons to be educational placement of "good manners " to children and young people referred to in the context of school education.

Such lessons are demanded from time to time by conservative politicians, such as Jürgen Schreier during his time as Saarland's education minister - mostly against the background of media reports on particular misconduct by young people .

Exactly what this “good behavior” should consist of is mostly not the subject of the debate. An example of a concrete implementation is the Bremen subject, manners, behavior, behavior , which was taught there on a trial basis at a school from mid-2003. In the case of this school, the teachers previously criticized a very bad social climate, which is said to have improved through the lessons.

The German Association of Education and Upbringing calls for more role models in the real environment, for example through teachers and in the media, instead of behavior lessons.
