Benjie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Benjie (born October 24, 1977 ), bourgeois Benjamin Kastner, is a German reggae , dancehall and hip-hop interpreter.

At the age of twelve he discovered music, which would later become his profession, as a hobby. At that time he was already making "beats" on his Amiga computer. Since 2004 he has already released three albums. Critics praise his creativity and the witty language, but above all he gained a certain degree of popularity through his unmistakable voice. He became known in the reggae scene in particular through the song Ganja Smoka . His lyrics are humorous and witty, but also deal with more serious topics such as love, fascism and the use of cannabis , which he does not deny himself. He also works as a producer.

Life

Benjie made his first appearance as a guest MC on Arawak in 1995. He was supported by DPS-Productions between 1999 and 2004 and founded the sound system "Rebel Sound" with Benny Rebel. The song 'Ganja Smoka' (2000) was Benjie's first major success. In 2002/2003 DPS-Productions published a re-release of 'Ganja Smoka' in cooperation with Def-Jam Germany . DHF Records and Peperone Records released the album 'So Seen' in November 2003. In 2005 he released the LP 'Unterwegs' with Gimme Mo'Records . The third LP, this time produced in-house, was released at the end of 2011.
