Beor (Bible)

Beor was the name of two people mentioned in the Bible .

Father Belas

In the Book of Genesis , Beor is named as the father of Belas, who was prince in Edom ( 1 Mos 36,32  EU ). He is mentioned again in the 1st book of the Chronicle ( 1 Chr 1,43  EU ).

Father Balaam

A second person of this name is the father of Balaam , who is reported in the book of Numbers ( 4 Mos 22–24  EU ). Further mentions of this beor, each as the father of Balaam, can be found in the books Josua (24.9 EU ) and Micha (6.5 EU )

A mention in the 2nd letter of the Apostle Peter also means that he is one of the people of the Old Testament named in the New Testament ( 2 Petr 2.15  EU ).
