Area process

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An area process is a process that takes place in an operational department (with plural organizational units ) and is part of a business process . In contrast to a business process, which usually goes beyond departmental and operational boundaries, a departmental process is limited to the process in one department. Area processes are usually either core processes or support processes .

The area processes have a defined start and a defined end, analogous to a business process. They have to be planned, implemented, controlled and optimized in terms of business reengineering .

If an industrial company is assumed, then the following area processes are conceivable:

  • The marketing area process as a process that relates to the company's sales , e.g. B. the exploration, design and development of sales markets ( marketing process ).
  • The production area process as the process relating to the operational manufacturing , e.g. B. Production preparation, production execution and production control.
  • The material area process as processes related to purchasing or the procurement warehouse , e.g. B. Goods procurement, warehouse disposition, warehouse realization and procurement control.
  • The personnel area process as a personnel management process which, as a personnel process, comprises the phases of personnel planning, procurement, deployment and control.
  • The finance process as a process relating to finance or investments , e.g. B. Obtaining, using and managing working capital.
  • The accounting process as a process that relates to the annual financial statements , bookkeeping , operational accounting or cost and performance accounting .
  • The information area process as a process relating to corporate IT , e.g. B. Data collection, data processing and data output.
