Beresin B-20
The Berezin B-20 (Березин Б-20) was one of the Soviet air forces 20 mm used automatic cannon .
development
The B-20 was developed in 1944 by Michail Evgenijewitsch Beresin from the Beresin UB in the 12.7 mm caliber by expanding its caliber to the 20 mm cartridge of the SchWAK . Apart from the caliber, the construction was completely adopted. Thus the B-20 was also operated mechanically or pneumatically and was available as a synchronized or unsynchronized variant. During the Second World War, it was used in combat aircraft of the Lavochkin La-7 or Jakowlew Jak-3 type, among others . In 1946, an electric ignition was developed for the B-20 so that it could be used in the turrets of the Tupolev Tu-4 bomber until the Nudelman-Richter NR-23 was available . The B-20 was a welcome replacement for the SchWAK, as it was 15 kilograms lighter with the same muzzle velocity and cadence .
