The Berg Lake is a glacial lake in Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia . The lake is 1,628 meters above sea level and is fed by Robson Glacier , Berg Glacier and Mist Glacier . The almost vertical, over 2,300 meter high northwest side of Mount Robson rises above the lake . The lake was built in 1907 by the icebergs ( English iceberg ) that from the glaciers into the lake calved , Iceberg Lake , called later the name was Berg Lake abbreviated. The Berg Lake Trail is 14 miles from the visitor center to the lake and follows the Robson River . The path is also open to mountain bikers and horses up to Kinney Lake , the path leads through the Valley of the Thousand Falls along numerous waterfalls as a steep hiking trail. The largest waterfall along the way is the Emperor Fall , which falls 46 meters in a wide, free fall. There are a few campsites along the trail.
