The Hamm Mining Authority was located at Goethestrasse 6 in Hamm from 1913 until it was closed on June 30, 1994 . Until 2008, the building was used as an advice center for the Criminal Investigation Department for the prevention of the Hamm police.

History of the mining authority

On January 1, 1903, the mining district office was relocated from Osnabrück to Hamm. It was initially housed in the house of the paper goods dealer Ernst Brauckmann at Bahnhofstrasse 30. The mining district office remained there until September 30, 1913.

In 1912, construction began on a new building for the Hamm mining district at the Goethestrasse 6 site. The new office building was inaugurated on September 30, 1913.

In 1914, Berg Inspector Dr. August Middelschulte mining district official and thus head of the mining office.

In 1943, the mining district office was renamed Bergamt.

On June 30, 1994, the Hamm Mining Authority was dissolved. The previous tasks were taken over by the Kamen Mining Authority. The last head of the Hamm Mining Authority was the chief mining director Friedhelm Seifert.
