Mining authority

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The mining authority is the special state regulatory authority responsible for mining supervision . In order to carry out the mining supervision prescribed by the Federal Mining Act (BBergG), the mining authority is authorized to issue mining ordinances. For operational monitoring , it authorizes operational plans and monitors their implementation.

It is also responsible for monitoring , known as the mountain police , the state-prescribed safety precautions in mining. One of the most important tasks is to prevent fires, particularly in the coal industry .

In the Federal Republic of Germany, mining supervision is a matter for the federal states; the federal states have established state mining offices to enforce the law.

structure

Depending on the administrative structure (two or three levels), there are supreme, upper and lower mining authorities.

In North Rhine-Westphalia z. B. the mining authority is part of the Ministry for Economy, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and operates on three levels:

  1. Supreme State Authority (State Government)
  2. Middle state authority (district government; formerly state mining office)
  3. Lower state authority ( mining offices )
