Bernd Reiner Voss

Bernd Reiner Voss (born March 10, 1934 in Celle ) is a German classical philologist .

Bernd Reiner Voss studied Classical Philology and History at the University of Münster . In 1960 he received his doctorate from Franz Beckmann . After the state examination, he was initially active in the school service. In 1968 he completed his habilitation in Münster, where he was appointed adjunct professor in 1970 and scientific councilor and professor in 1971. In 1999 he retired.

His research focuses on the Roman prose of the imperial era , especially on historiography and early Christian dialogues. His dissertation The Pointed Style of Tacitus was published in 1963 in the Orbis antiquus series (issue 19) and was published for the second time in 1980.
